receiver question

Got my D10 today i ordered off of e-bay. I took it out of the box and plugged it in to see if it would power up. The green light would come on and then go off after about 10 seconds. I have no way to test it further because i really wont need it for another month or so. Should the light go off like this? It was a new receiver,factory sealed. Thanks

After it goes off and you hit the power button does it light up?
