Received E-Mail from D* saying HR20 available at Best Buy

Got an e-mail from DirecTV this afternoon saying the HR20-250 is now available through their exclusive partnership with BestBuy. Anyone else get this?

Their site is showing it for $399 and shipping in 3 to 4 business days. I wonder if this is why Robert at VE got the note from D* saying to not ship any units for a couple of weeks.

Just got it. Called D*. They were able to give it to me for $174. I think this is a good deal because I'm a brand new subscriber and havent even paid my first bill. I'm sure if I've been around for a while they'd probably give it to me for free, but I feel like I was 'taken care of.'

Install on Thursday.

Wow.....are you in the LA market? Cause I just called DirecTV & they stated they are still ONLY available in the LA test market & it will be several months for the rest of the nation.

Nope. Indianapolis. I don't think all the CSRs are up to speed. The guy I talked to had to do some checking, but he got it worked out.

It could be that your market isn't out yet.....i have a feeling this isn't a 'full roll out'

I got one too. Given that only 3 of 5 HD Locals are available in my market, I wonder why they are trying.

Got mine installed today same day as noneroy. Hope yours went smoother than mine. Installer 1.5hrs late. I actually was expecting hr10-250 and almost sent him away! I hope you werent the next install on his list, because he was 1.5 hrs late to me and at my place for aout 3hrs. No cable running either, just at9 dish and box. He claimed I was Indy's first. But something tells me Peyton Manning may have a bit more pull than I do! Too bad all locals are not in HD here yet via sat. Let me know what you think of whole deal.
