On my directv settings it lists the following info:

Original Version:0x10AF
Past Upgrade: 0x10E8, 10/25/2006 3:30a
Future Upgrade: Not Scheduled


Now my question is this.... does that mean my directv is currently updated and has been currently updated with the latest software or what? Please let me know. Thanks

if you want to make sure you have the current updates, you can force a download by hitting 0-2-4-6-8 at the hello screen when you reset the reciever. The download screen will appear and look for any current software available.

And to add to what Lear said, if there is nothing to download, you will not see anything to indicate that (i.e. it won't say that it did not find an update, it will only indicate when there IS an update to download), so do it a few times to make sure, it took the second time on a D10 I have.
