[VOOM] Website

Interesting, both the www.voom.com and the www.voomllc.com are up and
running again?!?!?!

IMHO this is a good thing. Just so everyone knows, on Friday VOOM tech
support authorize an OTA antenna upgrade for me because I have been having
trouble with one of the locals. FOX . Scheduled for next Friday. Business
as usual and they are taking new signups again. Go figure. I truly expect
in one form or another VOOM or "Dish HD/VOOM" or something will continue on.
The concept is just too timely and good. But I've been wrong before.

Agreed! From a website that said they weren't taking new customers and
they they would be closing the end of March to be up and running again (at
least the website), is a good sign. At least at this very moment! ;)

Robert,
When I talked to Tony in tech support on Friday he authorized the OTA
upgrade for me, gave me a case #, and then the installer who did my two
receiver upgrade on Jan. 31 called me. So I feel comfortable that Tony was
the real deal. Very competent, knowledgeable guy. Anyway, Thursday, he
said they were not taking newinstall orders, Friday they were, and then he
just admitted that things have been changing on a day to day basis lately.
But if you want a new install and pursue it then you will probably get one,
on the right day. Monday brings a board meeting with a new board. Chapter
xxx of the soap opera known as "The VOOM Saga". Hopefully it will be a good
chapter for us VOOM'ers.

For some reason Sneaky John you are getting a double posting. I have my

I talked to customer service rep yesterday and they
have been given instructions to carry on as business
as usual. They are signing new orders and doing
business as usual. This will continue until there is a
final determination by the new board of director of
Cablevision if the tom and charles can buy the
remaining assest of voom and take them private.
If they can voom will live to die another day if not
then they will pronounce voom official a dead duck
with a final termination date.

I have the ill fortune of living in cablevisions cable
territory and find them to be of very poor quality and
to not do right by their customers. They have no shame
like the old ma bell. I believe that most everything
they get involved with turn that of manure. As the
knicks rangers and so on they are competent to run a
competitive business. They run promotions that are
punitive to long standing customers and like to root
for winners not these people who are give the golden
calf and waste it away on garbage.

So that's why you want to see VOOM die? I appreciate the explanation and it
makes some sense. What if VOOM becomes a seperate entity?

I probably wouldn't have either except for his previous posts. Even so,
everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as they state it as opinion
rather than fact and Jeffrey was stating his opinion. All I'm trying to
understand is why he is so negative on VOOM. I got my answer and now I
understand. It's not VOOM, it's Cablevision. This I can understand because
I think most of the VOOM negatives are rooted in Cablevision's restrictive
"we are the cable company and you have no other choice because we hold all
the cards" attitiude.
Sheesh. What a mouthful. Sorry, Tim.
I saw cCatwoman the other day. Wow to Halle Berry.

Bruce, I didn't take as a negative, just an expression, although it's
really corny. Only Bond can say that. Actually I think he was
thinking of Halle Berry.

customer service and missed calls and billing and all the other reasons
