Enough with the damn whining about DVR. There is
this "NEW" invention called a DVD recorder. You can
get one at Best Buy for $250 (cheaper at online
vendors) and play what you record on ANY DVD player.
DVR will happen when it happens. Until then stop
crying like a little girl with a skinned knee.

I am in the process of a relocation so I do not know
how it works with VOOM. My recorder(as most do) has
composite video in and it records 480 lines of res.
While it is not tru HD it looks great on maximum
resolution. It is also much easier to give a friend a
DVD to watch last weeks episode of 24 and Family Guy
than a TIVO option.
In response to the watching one program while taping
another.... Think outside the box. Spending time in a
board to talk about TV, we are obviously videophiles.
I "ass-u-me" that most of us have more than one TV.
Tape on the TV in your bedroom and watch tv in your
family room.

So in other words HD isn't important to you. You're DVD recorder answer
belongs on a NON-HD site. You make too many assumptions and none of them
relate to Voom and/or HDTV. If I wanted to record "Standard Definition" tv,
I'd buy a damn tivo box. I also doubt less than 1% of HDtv owners own more
than 1 HDTV.

Your answers are completely without merit.

Listen up ass!! You are missing the point...

In my original post I said simply said stop the
whining about not having a DVR for VOOM. We get
it.... We all want DVR... Stop the whining!!!!
Meaning talk about SOMETHING ELSE related to VOOM.
Talk about the new channels. Talk about how you
calibrated your TV for HDtv. Talk about anything
other than DVR. It will come, just be patient and
stop crying.

My DVD recorder was simply offered as an option.
Chances are if you saw a recorded DVD using composite
video input of a high def show it would be more than
acceptable until DVR comes this way.

Oh... and by the way I have 2 HDTV's a Hitachi 55"
and a Toshiba 57". I am sure I am not alone in owning
2 HDTV's.

Greg,
Please refrain from name calling. It only escalates in time and devalues
the forum content. However, I do agree with your opinion that the DVR will
come and in the meantime there are acceptable alternatives during the wait.
Thanks.
