Ok, I'll respond. I was watching and recording Medium on channel 4 here in Fort Lauderdale. I pushed the 6 button on my remote to go to L&O on 6 and it wantedi to cancel rhe current recording. I pulled up the channel guide, scrolled up to 6, pressed record an WaLa, the second record light came on. I was still unable to change cannels but both did record and in HD. I had to record the first one to TV1 and the second program to TV2 and scroll thru the guide instead of manuall changing channels.

Well that's why I asked the question because according to him, he recorded
two local channels in HD.

You can't. The 942 only has one OTA tuner.
