I had the 36" dish on a small table, so today I put it on a post. It moved the dish up about 2 feet from where it was, and I was able to reaim it to G10, but now I only get about 70% on the strongest transponder. Played with the elevation and azuimith, but thats as strong as I can get it. Weaker trans are only coming in at about 50% and cutting out. Should I play with the skew??

How far east/west or north/south did you move the dish to the pole, from the table?
Is there any chance you are now aiming through a tree, a power pole, or under part of your roof... or that of your neighbor?

You can double check your cable, and connections, and any grounding blocks you have in the path.
Did you add any new coax? Is it equal to the old coax?

Is the pole stable in the wind?
Does it sag from weight of the LNB, the dish, etc?

If you were using a motor, then rule #1 is: Keep the pole plumb at all times!
If you are not using a motor, then off-plumb can be accommodated by other adjustments.
I was receiving WhiteSprings on a little dish, with a pole off vertical by a good 20º.
Just didn't matter.

And when all else fails by all means do check the skew!

Thanks Anole, it was the discq switch thats faulty. Once I hook it direct I get 98%.

Most DiSEqC switches are relatively fragile, electronically speaking. Always be sure to completely power off the receiver (via the rear switch or unplugging it from the wall) before connecting or disconnecting these switches.
