Can the RC65RX remote (in RF mode) control the HR44?

No, the hr44 and c41s both require the new rc71 remotes when in rf mode as the utilize a different rf frequency in laymans terms.

The remote will control the HR44 in IR but NOT in RF, as twizt3dkitty says the HR44 (and C41) use a completely different RF technology from earlier DirecTV receivers.
