Autumnal Equinox edition...

1. Don't forget, today is the day you can balance an egg on the floor. Only happens twice a year, give it a try!

2. Night football has become all Manning, all the time. Great job by the brothers this weekend.

3. Not a good time to have a bad season, especially in Carolina. Listen to the names who are out there...Holmgren, Gruden, Cowher, Shanahan. Wow.

4. Never a dull moment in Philly QB land. Of course you have Donovan McNabb, with the bad ribs. Michael Vick is activated this week, Kevin Kolb had a pretty good game against New Orleans considering he is so raw, and Jeff Garcia, who had success a few years ago in Philly, is back. Only the Eagles can have a four way QB controversy. Even if McNabb doesn't play he'll probably still be annoyed if they put in a lot of formations for Vick.

5. Seeing the cheerleaders or go-go dancers or whatever that was at the top of Cowboys stadium, reminded me of the XFL. Sunday night football even brought you into the cheerleaders' locker room...unfortunately for you guys, it was empty though. ;)

6. OK so the Jets are 2-0, but I'm not sure how far the bluster will get them. I'm also not sure how long this defense can last either. The NFL is incredibly organic, as the film case grows teams will be looking at what the Jets are doing, and could eventually figure out a way around it. The defense will never be bad, but I don't see it remaining dominant for the whole season.

7. Jet fans also know they are not even the best team in town.

8. Mike Tirico was right last night, it's been an incredible start to both the college and NFL seasons.

9. What happened to the pennant races? They disappeared quickly. If the Twins/Tigers doesn't materialize into anything (which will be difficult for the Twins without Morneau), it will seem like baseball is going on hiatus for two weeks.

10. Funny how arguably the most prolific QB in college footbal history may not be able to play that position next year in the NFL.

11. For better or worse it's amazing how the Jets found the polar opposite to Eric Mangini in Rex Ryan. They could not be any different. It was so painful to watch Mangini watch and stare every week as the season went down the drain.

12. Brett Favre gives the game ball to Percy Harvin after week one, but has to add the fact that his trophy case is full anyway. Favre is the Roger Clemens of football, constantly polishing the Brett Favre legacy. It's always about Brett Favre.

13. Anyone hear Peyton Manning's reaction last night to surpassing Johnny Unitas on the Colts list? Mentioned how great Unitas was, how important Unitas was to the city of Baltimore, how much his dad told him about the greatness of Johnny Unitas, and what Unitas meant to the NFL. All class, Manning is the Derek Jeter of football. For Peyton Manning it's never about Peyton Manning.

14. I miss Wipeout already! Especially the big balls!!! :D

15. Wow, Washington back on the college footbal map already. An amazing turnaround. Now the loss to USC looks even worse for the Buckeyes.

16. Would have checked out Florida St - BYU on Saturday, but we could not because DirecTV is in a dispute with Versus. Lovely. Just get the negotiations done, will you? Jeez.

17. Michigan is scaring me.

18. There is no bigger NHL fan than me, but even I can't bring myself to watch Rangers preseason hockey.

19. Spare me Terrell Pryor' statistics against Toledo. I really don't care. Show me something against Penn State.

20. Actually, that comment is also directed to Jim Tressel.

21. Ramy is still the coolest Sports forum mod around!!!

It's Archie Manning that's the a**hole. Telling the world his son Eli is too good to play for the hapless San Diego Chargers if they draft him. What a jerk.

The two Manning's are comeback machines. Did anyone hear the post-game interview with Manning where he said he had inspiration from a certain brother of his from the night before? I thought that was pretty cool.

Jerry Jones and the whole State of Texas for that matter is soooo over the top it's ridiculous.

Why not? Rex's defense in Baltimore has remained effective for a very long time. Plus, you have the play makers in Bart Scott and especially in CB, Darrelle Revis. Dude single handily shut down 2 of the best WR's in the NFL in consecutive weeks (Andre Johnson and Randy Moss).

8. Mike Tirico was right last night, it's been an incredible start to both the college and NFL seasons.

You can say that again!

9. What happened to the pennant races? They disappeared quickly. If the Twins/Tigers doesn't materialize into anything (which will be difficult for the Twins without Morneau), it will seem like baseball is going on hiatus for two weeks.

Is Baseball STILL going on?! Ugh. ;)

10. Funny how arguably the most prolific QB in college footbal history may not be able to play that position next year in the NFL.

Don't tell the Jaguars owner that. He's already came out and said he will draft Tebow if he's available next year. I'm sure David Garrard was thrilled with that.

11. For better or worse it's amazing how the Jets found the polar opposite to Eric Mangini in Rex Ryan. They could not be any different. It was so painful to watch Mangini watch and stare every week as the season went down the drain.

That's the typical progression in Head Coaches in the NFL. Disciplinarian coaches are almost always followed by Players coaches.

13. Anyone hear Peyton Manning's reaction last night to surpassing Johnny Unitas on the Colts list? And I look forward to telling my future kids about how great Manning was. What a class act!

14. I miss Wipeout already! Especially the big balls!!! :D

Speaking of TV, mark your calendar for October 28th. The new season of Friday Night Lights on The 101 starts then.

15. Wow, Washington back on the college footbal map already. An amazing turnaround. Now the loss to USC looks even worse for the Buckeyes.

USC always finds a way to lose to a inferior Pac-10 opponent on the road. It happens every single year. The Trojans under Pete are a Jekyll and Hyde team.

17. Michigan is scaring me.

Why? They're pretenders. Especially their French QB.

I have "desert style" tile...don't work so good. :D

See Number 13.

3. Not a good time to have a bad season, especially in Carolina. Listen to the names who are out there...Holmgren, Gruden, Cowher, Shanahan. Wow.

Or Dallas, San Diego, Washington...

5. Seeing the cheerleaders or go-go dancers or whatever that was at the top of Cowboys stadium, reminded me of the XFL. Sunday night football even brought you into the cheerleaders' locker room...unfortunately for you guys, it was empty though. ;)

Should have moved from Hawaii to Dallas instead of Phoenix...that way I could charge people to watch my HDTV at half the price of watching Jerry's. :D

8. Mike Tirico was right last night, it's been an incredible start to both the college and NFL seasons.

If parity means "incredible start" for both then yes, but I get the sense we may have separation late for both the NFL and CFB.

9. What happened to the pennant races? They disappeared quickly. If the Twins/Tigers doesn't materialize into anything (which will be difficult for the Twins without Morneau), it will seem like baseball is going on hiatus for two weeks.

Happens every year unless the Yankees, Cubs, Red Sox are locked in a pennant race. They aren't, so MLB vanishes. But with both the Yankees and Red Sox in the playoffs MLB will stay relevant until after they (if) they lose. MLB better hope Colorado loses in the LDS.

10. Funny how arguably the most prolific QB in college footbal history may not be able to play that position next year in the NFL.

Tebow better learn the words to "O Canada". :dev

12. Brett Favre gives the game ball to Percy Harvin after week one, but has to add the fact that his trophy case is full anyway. Favre is the Roger Clemens of football, constantly polishing the Brett Favre legacy. It's always about Brett Favre.

The "F" word has been banned from discussion.

Quote from mdonnelly: It's Archie Manning that's the a**hole. Telling the world his son Eli is too good to play for the hapless San Diego Chargers if they draft him. What a jerk.

He did it so that they wouldn't play each other every year, likely in primetime, now they can only face each other in the SuperBowl or once in four years per NFC/AFC rotation. Blasting San Diego was the ends to the means to get it done.

14. I miss Wipeout already! Especially the big balls!!! :D

Patiently waiting Sabres response. :D ;)

Why does everybody sat this about Tebow? What does everybody see that I'm missing here? All he does is win, and I don't see any major faults with his passing arm. Somebody explain to me why everyone is so down on this guy?

QB's who run the option in college usually don't cut it in the NFL.

5 - Sadly, the Cowboys are onto something. Now we taxpayers get to set back and be extorted to replace the stadiums build 10-15 years ago which are now "obselete".

8 - Yes. And not one game in the college season so far would mean a darn thing if the idiotic idea of playoffs ever comes in.

9 - Thanks, Bud.

12 - I'm tired of Farve's act. Go away.

15 - Yes, it is wonderful to have a regular season where every game is meaningful.

16 - It is pretty clear to me that Comcast wants all of its channels to be cable only and will simply demand rediculious amounts as the contracts with DISH and DirecTV expire. Congress should act. DISH and DirecTV, and land based over-build competitor, should automatically be changed exactly what an average of all cable companies are.

17 - You mean the football team? No better than 5th in the Big 10. They have not played anyone yet.

18 - Preseason hockey should be a road show to smaller cities. No home games.

19,20 - This is JoePa's year.
