Random shut-offs

Periodically, my HWS is putting itself into standby mode - typically when I finish watching something that was pre-recorded. I sometimes leave the box on the screen that gives you the 3 options (DVR, Delete, Live TV) for 10 a 15 minutes while I'm doing something else and come back to find the DVR in standby.

Anyone else experience this? Any ideas?

Check Menu-->Settings-->Updates. The default for this is 2hrs.

Checked "updates" - set for the default of 2 hrs. As I said, this is occurring after no more than 10 or 15 minutes. Not every time - it's random.

That's two hours of no button presses not two hours after playback stops.

My guess is that the behavior is by design since not many people sit there and stare at the "Playback Ended" screen indefinitely. For one reason, to prevent burn-in.

Normally I find that if I do nothing, most of the time the screen returns to "live tv" rather than go in to standby mode. This behavior has just begun recently and is totally random.

Maybe it only turns off when all three tuners are in use?

I hadn't thought of that - it could very well be that I haven't touched any buttons in 2 hours or more. Might have to "up" the time by a couple of hours.
