New Programming Package Racetrack Television Network Now Available!

And we’re off and running with Racetrack Television Network! Effective July 1, 2010
DISH Network launched a new standard-definition (“SD”), a-la-carte programming package dedicated exclusively to “the sport of kings!” The Racetrack Television Network programming package offers up to 80 channels that feature the best in horseracing from around the country. It is now available for both new and existing residential and commercial Public/Private customers.

For residential customers the 80 channel package is $50 a month and requires a Dish 500+ or DISH 1000+ (as the 80 channel package is at the 118.7 orbital location) and all RTN channels are broadcast in MPEG4 meaning you must have a MPEG4 receiver to view these channels.

and sadly today they were scrambled on their "legit" (as of right now) location (95W). They had been in the clear for a couple weeks

the ponies are off
oh no! she was a sure thing
flat busted again

You should have been able to order these under view add additional programming since June 3rd, weeks before they were even uplinked. They put them up in QPSK MPEG-4 and obviously any MPEG4 receiver can do 8PSK so perhaps its a SNR issue with Anik F3, maybe why they are going with QPSK, not for compatibility reasons.

no...considering the last 2 "news" articles on the E* site are
"we have 209 out of 210 local markets" (yet they say all but tell that to Salisbury, MD subs)
"directv upgrade crashes receivers" (yeah that was a month ago)

Did you happen click on the DirecTV receiver issue link? The blog may have been changed since Dish originally posted the link on their site, but it's basically praising DirecTV's response to the issue and their presence on Twitter. Of course, the comments below the article probably make Dish happy. :)
