R10=better DTivo?

My cousin wants to get another DirecTivo. She has had the Philips Series 2 one for a couple of years. She wants another one. Shoudl she get the R10 or the Hughes one? I don't see the Phillips one advertised anymore. Also, weren't the DirecTivo's being sold for like $49.99? Now the cheapest is $100. Also, I've heard that the R10 works faster in terms of guide speed than the other ones. Is this true?

I just added a R-!0 and I don't notice the difference between any of my other DTivo's.

Okay. Thanks. I wouldn't think so since they are all based on the same Tivo software.

The main difference is how much faster the R10 menus are compared to older models.

I have noticed the R10 being much faster too. I really like the R10 unit.

I like my R10 but don't notice any difference in menu speeds from my Hughes 40 hour Tivo.

The R10 has an upgraded CPU and memory over the older DTivos.

Also, The R-10 is the only standard-definition model still being manufactured.

If you prefer another, you might be able to find one.
