quick diplexer question

If I have no Joeys, is there any reason that I couldn't diplex an FM radio antenna into the coax from the node to the Hopper? I want to be sure that the Hopper isn't going to sense an unrecognized signal in the MOCA band and complain about it, or broadcast noise out the FM antenna by trying to probe for MOCA devices.

MoCA is there whether you have Joeys or not (that's how the Hopper discovers any Joeys).

I'd recommend against what you propose as the MoCA signal is pretty hot.

MoCA happens at much higher frequencies than FM so it could technically be done if you could figure out how to filter out the MoCA signal.

The FM frequency is below the MoCA band so might work. Problem is that an antenna would probably pick up other frequencies that could interfere with the MoCA signals. Also, it would probably be illegal as it would transmit whatever MoCA signals might be present such as the Hopper's home network connection which is bridged to the MoCA band.

I think the range is 500 to 1650 MHz for MoCA.
