I will be replacing my 811 and 508 with a 942 soon.

Since the 508 still has many recorded programs on the HDD, can I leave the audio / video hooked up to my tv (even though it won't be getting a satellite signal any more) and still watch them at some point after it's deactivated ?

unhook satellite connection, I had a 501 die last fall (receiver part) I unhooked and deactivated, shows were still there when I traded to dish for replacement...also I took the 501 I had and have taken the 501 I have now camping, often not hooking up... shows were viewable.

Thanks. So should I make sure I unhook the sat input BEFORE I call Dish to deactivate or does it really matter ? In other words will the unit eventually cease to allow playback of the HDD contents because it no longer gets any satellite signal information?

DVR 522 TV1 stuck on "press select to contineu"

Ability to record Analog???
