Sorry for a few simple noob questions, but i need some answers before going out and picking up the wrong items. 1st off i am not new to FTA but to this forum dad did it back in the 80's before HBO and the other went encryted. Right now I am a current dish network subscriber thats doesn't need all that dish and direct tv have to offer. I am looking into FTA but my only problem is Babyfirst TV. Some folks were saying that i can get it for free via 121w galaxy 23 useing a c band setup , some others that i have spoken to have said that it was a encyped station now. If this is the case then i guess i have to swith to direct tv or renew with dish but am looking to save that $5 a month if i can.

so here my questions

1) Is babyfirst TV on 121w still free to view?

2) Can a dp-34 switch accept the lo c band freq or do i need new multiswitchs?

3) can anyone reffer me to a dish vendor that might be more closer to NJ , Sadoun is great but i can't afford the shipping cost for a new BUD or mini BUD system, and craigs list in my area is a no go as far as true FTA goes

Thank You in advance

2. The Dish Network DP-34 is not generally considered for FTA use.
Not saying we haven't come up with some creative solutions where it can be used.
And, the output of both C-band LNBs and Ku-band LNBs (both FSS and DBS) are in the same frequency range.
So, yes, would be the answer.
This B1-SAT is a C-band, bandstacked LNBF, which -could- technically be used with a DP-34, but this is not the story we usually tell newbies.

3. Hang around here, and folks discover surplus dishes and make posts about them.
You're beter off going out and searching the countryside for your own, if you're in a hurry.
I ran across a top-class BUD just driving through suburbia, a few weeks ago! :D
