This may be a bit winded but I want to make sure I cover everything.

Right now I have one 18" dish and two receivers. One is an RCA DRD480RE and the other is an RCA DRD486RH. I have been a DirecTV subscriber since Dec. 1996. Always had the two receiver hookup. Ran all the cable and hookups myself and prefer to do that again.

Locals were recently added to our area. I would need another 18" dish to receive them. This multiswitch stuff is foreign to me. What I would like to do is eventually replace one receiver with one DirecTV DVR/Tivo in one room and replace the other receiver with two DirecTV DVR/Tivos in another room. The reason for this is that I work odd hours and record EVERYTHING I watch.

So my questions are this?

- How would the wiring on this work out?

- With the Multiswitch, would it be in the attic?

- Since I am wanting the DVR/Tivo to be able to record two DirecTV
channels at once, do I have to run two cables to each unit?

- Is there anyway possible for me to still install this stuff myself or must I use an installer? The ones that I have seen around here are sloppy.

Those should get me started with my thinking process on this. I appreciate any help. Been reading the forum for a little bit now and finally decided to get my feet wet with a big question.
