I have an issue and questions regarding my DVR 625 when going to MENUS, PREFERENCES, UPDATES.
The issue is that I have selected and enabled 4:31am for updates, but after I begin watching TV around 5:15am I am getting prompted for this update at 5:31am which is one hour after the time I've selected. The clock on my receivers and guide is indeed showing the correct time. Any thoughts? Also, does it matter -- even though my receiver is off -- if I have a DVR event scheduled at 4:30am? I actually don't, but I was just wondering if DVR events conflict with a scheduled update.
Another question...exactly what ARE these updates? I do know these updates were necessary to expand my DVR capacity from 100 to 150 hours a couple of months back as I manipulated these times to ensure I got that particular update---which did work for me. Otherwise, what do these updates mean? I've seen them run and the screen says its performing an integrity check which takes about 10 minutes and to not disturb the receiver or its power during that time. Do these updates also update the guide?
Finally, if I have the ACTIVATION on the UPDATES screen DISABLED what happens? The screen states that no new guide info is available until the receiver is turned off. So, does this update occur EVERY time the receiver is turned off? Must the receiver be off for a set amount of time before an update begins?
Sorry for so many questions, but I want to understand this UPDATE process. But, my biggest concern is why my receiver is currently wanting to update one hour after the time I selected.
