Say I get the Total Choice Package at $44.99 a month. Then I get 3 DVRs, so it's $4.99 ($9.98 for 2) for the 2 additional receivers. Plus it's $5.99 a month for the DVR Service. That ends up being $60.96 plus tax per month. I'm paying $40.00 for cable. I'm not sure I can talk the wife into it. Is there any way to eliminate the $4.99 ($9.98 for 2) fee for the additional receivers (without having to only go to 1) or the $5.99 DVR Service fee?

I currently only have NFL SUNDAY TICKET and cable. I want to go all digital but I'm not liking the additional $15.97. Also, I've heard that everyone likes the Tivo DVRs but that they no longer make them. Any insight into that?

Thanks.

Uh, no...

Then I guess you should leave well enough alone???

Personally, I wouldn't have the new DVR's for nothing - if you want D-Tivo's as well, you can get them from weaknees.com, or try e-bay.

Where are you ? You say your getting cable for only $40.00 ? My cable was $40.00 for basic and that was 15 years ago.

Why do you find that so unusual - we have a cable system around (a rinky-dink local system) here that charges only $38 for full basic cable w/about 65 channels.

(cable pricing is on the 2nd page)

Course, the picture looks like total CRAP, but I guess now you know why it's only $38... ;) :D

All I was saying that that was cheap and I havent seen those rates for years (in South Florida):yikes For what it worth, A friend just switched over from cable and swears the picture quality is 100% better than cable.:up
