Question if any channels exist.

I am looking into possibly getting a FTA system and need to convince the wife that I "need" a new toy. Are there any channels from the NYC / Northern NJ area that are availible via FTA. (this would make this an EASY convincer!!)

You'll get over 200 full time channels if you can see all of the satellites from at least 72.0 W to 127.0 W. Half of those are in English, the rest are of course various other languages . As for NYC origination, there are a few from at least the state of NY:
NYN - New York Network (educational from SUNY)
NYC OTB 1/2/3 - Off Track Betting (3 channels of horse races)
Empire Sports Network - Nice (but I don't have good signal there, need some tweaking)
WNYI 52 - New "LickTV" network
WNGS 67 - Independent (shows Cheers weekdays at 6:30pm Eastern! )
ABC News ABSAT - An ABC News feed that says it originates from NYC
Some NYN (above) feeds
Rang-a-Rang NY - a foreign language channel of sorts
