Question for installers or anybody

Ok guys I am buying a HD receiver from D* for my main living room 61 HDTV. I am not getting the HD DVR because I can not watch locals in HD. I have a thought though. The way my house is I got a non HD Tivo in my master bedroom which is right against the wall of my living room. What if I ran a cable from the Tivo in my master bedroom room to the VIDEO 2 or 3 input of my Home Theater, located in the living room? Using an rf remote could I then switch to Video 2 or 3 and watch my bedroom Tivo from the living room?

Does the Tivo accept a UHF remote? If so, then yes. If it is strictly IR you can get a set of the IR repeaters that receive the IR signal in your living room and send it wirelessly to a remote location, then convert it back to IR to control the device at that location. Like these:
