I have trees across the road from my house, About 25-30 feet or so away. Do you think these will pose a problem when setting up my motorized FTA system. When I had DN a while back it worked fine without any issues, But I realize it's not the same situation. I'm worried the most about the sats on the left and right hand sides of the arc as those are much lower, Correct? My neighbor has a hughes net dish that works fine It appears to be pointing in a diferent direction than his DN dish, Can anyone tell me what sat that might be? I just want to make sure everythings gonna be ok before I order my system.

Thanks

As was said above, DishPointer.com will tell you the elevation and azimuth of a satellite you want to receive.

With that info, you can get a compass and an inclinometer to see if you have a clear line of sight.

I use a Sears Laser level to check the elevation angle of potential obstructions. At night it has about a 300 yard range and I just look at the angle shown on the lcd screen when I see the laser's red dot at the top of the tree, house, or whatever. I sure hope I haven't scared any neighbors!
