What is a q-box and what does it do? I've seen reference to it but have not been able to figure out what it is/does.

I heard that phrase used to describe a panel in my master bedroom closet where all the phone , ethernet, and cable wires come in. Then there are hubs and power in the Q box to where I can send the phone, ethernet, or cable to particular rooms in my house that are all wired.

For my DSL, this is where my router and DSL modem are and for the satellite, the splitters and whatnot are all there.

If you browsing the site, that mean you have access to Internet - why not use Google and dig for widening your knowledge ?
The question came into Dish forum, not wiring closet equipment. :(
