I was trying to locate echostar 3 at 61.5 west. I knew I must be close because I found Amazonas at 61 with a universal LNB. I swapped LNB for a DBS circular and changed the dish setting menu to reflect the LO frequency of 11.250. I then tried to Blind scan the bird. The scan was over in less than 1 sec while normally it might take 90-120 secs !!
I recheck everything and all seems ok. Another blind scan so fast you cannot see anything about quality !!. So I think something must be wrong with the LNB.
I have one other circular LNB from Sharp with a LO freq of 10500 I replace the lnb and change the lo parameter and do a blind scan this time I get no locks but it does at least take about 100 seconds.
No locks so I look for a freq and sr for this bird and come up with 12266 L 20000. When I try to enter this new transponder the Coolsat replies invalid frequency !!
There must be a relationship between the LO frequency and the range of frequencies that the Coolsat will try. Can anyone please help me understand what is going on.
Thanks
Tony
