Has been added on channel 240. I know Outdoor Channel (396) was going to be added to the HD lineup at one time, but that went away even though Outdoor Channel advertises content is available in 100% HD all the time. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about it lately other than "soon".

Maybe they will uplink it to 72.7 for us EA folks when they are done with the shuffling of HD channels from 72.7 to 61.5. It does seem strange that they would give it to one ARC and not the other at the same time. Of course, WA also has ION West on channel 217 while EA does not.

The Outdoor Channel HD went away from testing last year and has not been on the satellite in test for a long time now...However this week it popped up again and is now testing on channel 9472.

Looks like February could be interesting for new channel launches.

Pursuit Channel Moves to AMC 18

The Pursuit Channel is pleased to announce that the broadcasting of the channel moved to AMC 18 which is a MPEG 4 satellite on Dec, 4 2010. "We are very excited about broadcasting the Pursuit Channel on this new higher quality satellite," said Pursuit Channel CEO Rusty Faulk. "While the investment was significant it was a must in order to continually improve the channel." The new satellite greatly increased the signal quality of the channel, but just as importantly will allow Pursuit Channel to start the process of unveiling a High Definition channel in 2011. "Airing in High Definition is a great step for us," said Rusty Faulk. "This will allow our great programming to be viewed in excellent picture quality while taking full advantage of our producers' ability to supply the HD format our distribution partners seek." "2010 has been a great year for the Pursuit Channel," said MOOSE Media Director of Sales Neil Sanders. "And with the upgraded satellite, 2011 looks to be another great year." Pursuit Channel is the most widely distributed, pure hunting and fishing network featuring many of the industry's top names. It is the only outdoor network delivered in satellite provider DIRECTV's basic package. Pursuit Channel, through its Agency of Record - Performance One Media, has secured distribution across all 14 million Dish Network subscribers starting 2011. It is owned and operated by people who understand the vibrant outdoor industry. Founder and CEO Rusty Faulk has produced Rusty Faulk Outdoors for over 20 years. MPEG4 is a transmission method that can be used on any satellite. I've never heard of an "MPEG4 satellite"

Very poor quality HD Local

reciever doesn't respond to remote or front panel buttons.
