This is a bit long. Bear with me.
I recently got connected w/D*, a basic plan w/hd service, (one H20 receiver)
I purchased a 75' hdmi cable to connect a remote TV in the bedroom to the H20 box in the living room.
I followed a lead on the "seawell HDMI splitter" box. They were out of stock, so I ordered a generic of the same from a reliable source on ebay. (a powered, DHCP, 1.3 compliant, same spec as the seawell.)
At first I tried both TV's (solo) to the H20 and both the short and the 75' hdmi worked fine. I powered everything down, ran a short hdmi lead to the splitter and connected both TV's. Everything works fine.
Except:
I now periodically get "no signal" via HDMI to both Tvs. If I reset the H20, everything works again.
(When I get the "no signal" message, a direct connection (without the splitter) does not fix the problem, either.)
I also have a DVD recorder connected o the H20 via composite video.
Am I running too many outputs?
Any help is much appreciated. I am A/V savvy. HDMI is new to me.
