I just got my dvr522 w/america 60 & local, installed today! I'm very much happy so far with everything, the dvr feature is pretty sweet. Anyways, I noticed that all the programming time is 3 hours ahead programming time for cable. Like say with cable, JAG is playing at 8pm on USA, Dish would play that same program at 5pm instead. Why is that? I live on the west coast, its like all the programming is for east coast. Local channels are fine.

Not a big deal, just got to get used to this time difference.

You've got it figured out. Many, if not most, of the "cable" channels are from the east coast feed. My wife was piised at me when I got Dish back in '98. She used to watch Walker on USA at like 5 or 6 and she couldn't do that anymore. You get used to it.

Yep they do that

Yes the shows are one different times, but if you look MOST of them repeat again for the west. (Where I am also). The one that said that's why you have a DVR is correct. It's actually a plus, because we can record them earlier, then when you go to watch them, you can jump the commercials. I record the Daily Show @ 8 and when my daughter goes to bed, I'm all set. Once you get used to that, you will NEVER go back :) It also helps you avoid "2 shows on at once" as you can tape one from the east feed, and another from the west. No more missed shows.

Thanks for clearing up this matter for me.

Yeah, just got to get used to the time difference, and thats what the dvr is for too!
