I live in Glastonbury, CT and am a new subscriber to DishTV (6 months now). In the past couple of months, I am constantly losing my HD Channels or they lose their signal and never come back. What is causing this problem? CSR's and even Service Techs do not find a problem considering it always works when they are here. Thanks for any information. I have a 622 and it has been upgraded to L4/

Thank you . . . okay, here are some of the numbers for each Transponder on 61.5
Trans 17 = Signal Strength --> 0
Trans 18 = 93 (Message reads Wrong Sat in Red)
Trans 19 = 0
Trans 20 = 0
I went up and down; I did get signal strengths at 15, 16. and 18, bot they both had a red message stating wrong sat.

Any clues or suggestions?

Ran it again and nothing. I also unplugged the system and disconnected the cables from behind into the receiver; nothing and nothing. For six months now, I have had Dish and I would say 85% of the time, no problems; however, the other 15% all revolve around problems with my HD Channels. I live in Glastonbury, CT any suggestions or advice that you may be aware of in this location?

Go back to Menu 6 - 1- 1 and choose check switch. What Satellite inputs do you have?

Try also unplugging your receiver for a minute and restart the check switch procedure.

If this doesn't work, try this, on the switch itself, change your cables around and run check switch again. Now go back and check signals on 110, 119 and 61.5 and see if you lost a different satellite.

I also changed the cables around, as suggested, and re-ran the signal check. After it was completed, all satellites (119/110 and 61.5) were all back and in green. Devices said Twin Twin and Dual.

Do I need to switch the cables back now or should I leave them reversed?

WOW . . . WHAT A GREAT HELP; I REALLY LOVE THIS SITE AND YOU GUYS SINCE GREGG LOWEN INTRODUCED ME TO IT. ANYTHING I CAN DO, LET ME KNOW :)

I think they need to be; seems when I watch an HD Channel, it loses its signal after a minute or so. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this works when changed back :)

Seems like I have to; when I watch an HD Channel, it quickly loses a signal :(
Well I am going to pray for a little bit, then I will reverse them . . . lol

I reversed the cables again and yep, if it is not broke, why fix it? The 61.5 Satellite is now missing once again; sheesh!

Call Dish, explain all the new steps what you just did and when an installer will come _show_ him again.
There are more work - check LNBFs, cables from dishes, switch, cable from switch, connectors, ground, etc.

Thank you so much! I did call them and explained everything; they were puzzled that reversing the cables worked. Anyways, they are coming next Saturday and are doing 1 or all of the following 3: replacing the splitter, replacing the VIP622 and/or raising the heights of the satellite dishes. Thank you so much again for all of your help :)
