I have a updated 4900 receiver and I have two blue button remotes one with only one power,This one can't change to the other services like TV VCR ect.
The other one has two power buttons one big the other small. The big one will turn off the receiver the other one will turn off the TV.
My problem is that both remotes are really slow when trying to change dish channels of trying to display the channel guide. You have to keep pushing the buttons to get any thing to work.
Both have had new battries instlled and both have the same problem.
Do any of you guys/girls have any idea if this is a problem with the receiver or the remotes? I find it hard to beleive that both remotes would have the same problem at the very same time.
I want to have some idea of what's wrong when I call the CSR or should I call the techs.
I do have the DHPP warranty.

First try a hard reset(pull power cord) if that dosen't improve things call tech support but they will probably tell you it is the age of the receiver. That was originally a 4700 and internal memory is limited.

But this problem is new.
I have been a E* customer since 2000 and this problem just started yesterday.
Untill then they worked just fine.

Was there a receiver software upgrade in the past 2 days that may be affecting it?

But in either case - try unplugging the power for a couple of minutes, if that doesn't work - try 15 - 20 minutes. The receivers are just like computers, sometimes the logic gets screwed up and you need to ensure it is completely de-engergized and then power it back up for a fresh re-boot.

P3.24 when out on 1/10/07, I would be surpised if the software casuing the issue, but you never know. I would call and ask a tech since you have DHPP it would cover everything. Have you pull the smart card and wait 10 seconds then put it back in? that my help. Good luck.

Yep, never know. I remember reading some posts several months ago where some members had to power down their receivers after a software upgrade, while others have not.

He might as well try that before calling support, they will probably have him do the same thing; or they may just send another receiver which will ensure the power is recycled.:D
