problem with reception of channel 279

I have a rather old Sony receiver that works fine with the exception of channel 279. The picture quality is terrible on that one channel for some reason. I reset the receiver, but the problem still persists. Is it possible that it is some sort of internal receiver problem that affects that channel only? Thanks for the help.
