Problem playing VIP211 HDMI thru Onkyo AV Receiver

Got a new Onkyo AV receiver. The HDMI output from my VIP211 will not play thru the receiver. Plays ok going direct to the TV. Have two other HDMI output devices working fine going thru the Onkyo. Changed cables and inputs around but always with the same result. Appreciate any thoughts/hints that you might have. It's a bummer having to use component video output.

Can't comment on the Onkyo setup, but component has no less PQ than HDMI.

Update.

The Audio plays thru the HDMI but the Video does not.

sounds like a video input issue (may not be enabled) or TV may be tuned to wrong input

What model do you have??
I did a google search...no video through onkyo hdmi

Seems to be a problem on some models.

No big deal, run HDMI to TV from 211 and optical from 211 to Onkyo

Strange.No such problem with my Onkyo TX-SR607.

I had a similar issue with my 606 but it was my own fault. I had another piece of equipment which I had assigned HDMI 1 and Optical 1 to say input SAT. After I hooked up my 211 to SAT input I got video but no sound. I had to go into the setup of the receiver and remove my optical assignment after which I was good to go. Moral of the story is check how you have your HDMI and Digital audio inputs set in the On screen menu...
