I thought the free previews are provided by the channel provider not the retransmission company (ie Dish or DirecTV) so the should be available to all users right?

Dish has some freevuews where they take channels from the higher packages and lets everyone see them.
As for the MLB EI freeview well Dish doesnt have that so they can't

But you are right....there are more freeviews it seems on Directv than Dish

I think your right, but I would imagine they could pick and choose what provider gets them, for example, just because a Showtime free preview is on D*, doesn't mean it is on Cable or DISH at the same time.

ok, i do believe that i have had more free previews with direct now in less then a year then i had with dish for 5 years
