Thank you for this important information, jamieh1!

Hmm... interesting... this opens up a wider block between the Showtime package and the HD package.

I wonder what they are thinking of to fill the space? Epix? Movie/Indie/RetroPlex? More HD Pack channels?

Also seems weird that IFC would be pulled away from Sundance and grouped with the HD Pack channels....

Usually D* doesn't do a channel shuffle like this unless they have something they want to wedge in somewhere...

Didnt get an email, but noticed when I went to do my 3mo free trick, since I missed Raw on usa monday night.... They show they are moving in the guide on the receivers themselves too.

I too got my email a few days back about it, but you had to LOOK for it.

I don't think I watch any of the channels that are moving.

Satracer on the other site stated pretty definitely that it is NOT epix coming. One new channel and others moving into the holes.

So why the move?

I ask because that opens up a good amount of space. Isn't Sundance Channel moving from channel 558 to 557? Isn't Independent Film Channel moving from channel 559 to 564?

If that's correct, what will be placed between that gap?

It's anybodies guess at this point !

Thanks Jason wish they would add Epix since they have an agreement with that company that owns Spike and the rest of them!! :)

It would also appear to me, that since now there is NO more space between the Showtime & TMC block, it looks very unlikely that D* will ever be adding the last missing Showtime, Sho Family... ;)

If they wanted to add Epix they would had done it already. During the whole spat with Viacom last year, they got pre-negotiated terms on Epix if they added it within the 1st year of the new agreement. I think that 1st year is just about over if not over already. If they want to add Epix now, they have to re-negotiate with Viacom again which I don't think they want to do.

I agree and they should of added it during the Viacom dispute and don't understand why and thanks for explaining the 1 year contract thing :)

The comment about FEARnet HD was funny. The mentions of EPiX, three of four which are in HD, were interesting. But it doesn't look like what will happen is going to be interesting. There are not that many premium movie programmers. There is HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Encore, Showtime, The Movie Channel, Flix. It doesn't take that much room to fit them one by one, according to DirecTV's layout.

DirecTV, I figure, doesn't want to add FEARnet and it doesn't want to add EPiX. Perhaps DirecTV has some underperformances with premium movie programming subscriptions. If that is the case, that may explain why DirecTV is not jumping at adding EPiX.

One thread about QVC HD, Galavision HD, and Playboy TV HD was closed. I want to see more basic cable programmers' high definition feeds come our way. In alphabetical order, I'm thinking of the following: C-Span HD, C-Span HD, Fuse HD, FX Movie Channel HD, GSN HD, Home Shopping Network HD, The Hub HD, Military Channel HD, MTV2 HD, Outdoor Channel HD, Ovation HD, Oxygen HD, PBS Kids Sprout HD, Reelz Channel HD, Sportsman Channel HD, Style Network HD, Sundance Channel HD, TV Guide Network HD, TV One HD, We TV HD. There are others, as well, like Brigham Young University HD, Eternal World Television Network HD, Jewelry Television HD, MavTV HD, RFD-TV HD, ShopNBC HD, Trinity Broadcasting Network HD, and Universal Sports HD. That's a lot. And that many be everything. But I would like to see at least five mentioned added along with QVC, Galavision, and Playboy in high def before this year is done.
