Hi folks,
:)
I need help, if any of you C-band users, or still or had
been in the broadcasting industry.

I have a C/ku band satellite big dish system.

Powerball Lotto Live drawing feeds is on
Galaxy 19, transpnnder 16, Horizontal, C-band,
and analog. However, there seem to be a problem.
The signal on transponder 16 is bad.

I tried readjusting my polarizer from
my satellite receiver, big dish allignment,
all that, none of them helps to clear the
signal.

Powerball Live drawing feed is uplink by
Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
When they moved to transponder 16, H, analog
C-band, they did a one day test just to find
out whatever have any of the tv stations that
receives Powerball drawing feeds, to see if
they're able to receive the signal on this
spot. On that one day test, dozen of tv
stations weren't able to get a clear signal
on transponder 16. I've experienced the same thing.

They had a backup feed which was on transponder
9, V and transponder 13, V which they were great
and clear signal, and uses transponder 16
as a primary feed.

Lately, they're now using transponder 16, H. There's
no other backup feed with clear signal.
For the past 3 Powerball drawing feeds, Wednesday
May 13, Saturday May 16, and Wednesday May 20th,
they're using transponder 16 as a primary feed.
With this spot, it's not in a clear signal.:(

Again, I tried everything I could on my C-bnd
system. And if the Multi-state Lottery in
West DesMoines, Iowa, and Universal Studios in
Orlando, Florida isn't going to do something
about it, the signal on transponder 16 isn't
getting any better.

I've contacted "Intalsat" CMC in California, regarding
this matter. They said that they have not receive any
report by dozen of tv stations downlink with problems.
Or maybe they just don't want to admit it that
there have been a problem.

They mentioned that I should call CMC when it happens.
But I'm wondering would it requires someone
that has "Myintalsat" account in order to talk
with their CMC for help??

My question to you is, do you think Galaxy 19
soler power battery is going out???
Since that I'm unable to readjust my C-band
system to bring in a better singal, is there
any way that you could help me to get a better
signal on transponder 16, analog C-band on
Galaxy 19 for Wednesdays and Saturdays Powerball
drawing??

Universal Studios in Olando uplink the Powerball
feed at 7:40 pm PST until 8:10 pm PST.

I wish that intalsat's CMC could help more.
They're the ones that operates Galaxy satellites
in orbit and monitoring the uplink and downlink
feeds. And would take reports and monitors the
uplink and downlink feeds on the next dates that
weak uplink or downlink signal happens again.

It would be cool that if any of you are familer
with intalsat, or associate with intalsat, I would
be willing to show you a snap shot of a bad signal
of live powerball drawing feed on transponder 16.

I have copied down the phone number of the Universal
studios that provide the uplink feed. I could give
you if you want to contact them regarding this problem.

It showed thier phone number for contacting them for
techical problem or re-feed the Powerball drawing.
But I'm not a tv station, I wish. Just a small video
post production, and have a C/Ku band big dish system.

So, I couldn't call them and say "Hey, I gotta problem!"
They would probably ask what tv station I am. :))

Intalsat CMC said by e-mail
"The only thing that appears to have changed is the
polarization of the D/L. You were receiving the service
good on the vertical down but are having problems
receiving Horizontal."

That's true... But how can that be fixed??
I tried everything with my system.

I have a 10 foot mash KTI big dish antenna, with
Co-Rotor II feedhorn, and a C/Ku band receiver is
General Insturment 650i, analog.

I'm trying to help MUSL in Iwoa on their Powerball feed
facilitate and intalsat headquarter, to know that there's
a problem and can they fix them.

I hope that you could help with answers.
If you want to see a screen shot of a weak signal,

I provided in the attachment. Download it and take
a good look at it as the example of bad signal.

See attachment of Powerball feed on Galaxy 19,
transponder 16, Horizontal, C-band, ananlog with
a bad signal, no good quality signal.
;)
Thank you.

have you tried other satellites to see if maybe the skew is not working right?
I know on G4 (G16 next door) there is an analog feed on 16V Shepherds Chapel and usually a feed at 17H

Hi Iceburg,
:)

YES, I have NO PROBLEM with Galaxy 16 satellite.
This prove that I do not have any problem with my
C/Ku band receiver.
On Transponder 17, C-band, analog is "DISNEY-ABC" feed.
They uplink "At the Movies" on Fridays. And it's Horizontal.
This shows that I do not have a problem. Than I do with
Powerball feed on Galaxy 19, transponder 16, Horizontal,
C-band.

So, what's next that you could help??

Could it be Galaxy 19 solor power battery up there may
be the cause??

Hi Iceburg & members,
:)

On Friday night, May 22nd, I was on a satellite radio
talk show called "SAT-TALK" Show.

I was the first caller in the first 10 minute of the show.
I discussed about my problem on getting Powerball feed.

Here's the link to their interent site to be able to hear
their show, including my voice as one of the first caller.

What do you think??
Thanks,
