Possible new Direct TV customer Question

Ok, so, I went to the Direct TV site, went through all the process up to the page where it asks for the SS# for a credit check. I did that, and it says no deposit required *But* they still require a $25.00 charge for a my credit/debit card for hardware or something like that. Is the normal procedure? For what it's worth I also figured with my less than great credit I would have to pay a deposit. I'm sure this subject as been brought up but i'm brand new to the site

The $25.00 could either be their way of verifying the debit card (similar to when the old dot com's used to test your credit card with a $1 charge) or it could be the price for the credit report which may or may not be refunded to your account or through your first bill (as a $25.00 credit).

It's been a long time but I think they credit it right back.

It is a 25 dollar hold to verify the account is good. it released 72 hours later.
