HERE TO HELP YOU!
From DirecTV...
You have likely seen some posts out there about our new Poltergeist commercial, some speculating that the parents of the actress, late Heather O'Rourke might not approve of her being in the ad. Before we went forward with production on the Poltergeist spot, we ran the idea by Heather’s mother for her approval. Not only did she approve it, she thought the inclusion was a wonderful tribute to her daughter.
Thought it might be an important piece of information to share.
in case anyone thought permission was not given...

Nice of DTV to do so. I thought the commercial was great! Saw the movie a few years ago for the first time. Sad that the little girl died though. =(

What I LOVE about the commercial is the fine print that reads: TV reception depicted is not intended to imply quality of cable reception....or some such legal BS.

But all in all, great spot D*!!

But one has to wonder... DirecTV starts airing the Poltergeist commercial and suddenly, all their HD DVRs are acting as if they are...

Possessed!

Coincidence? I leave it up to you...

it must be in anticipation of Chiller HD that is coming soon! get ready!

Wow glad to hear it because when I saw that commercial my first thought was HOW TASTELESS but surely I have no beef if the parents gave their blessing. Hopefully they got a few bucks too.

Being a movie buff myself I knew she passed away but I wonder how many regular 'folks' know she died. As long as the parents gave it the green light I have no trouble with it.

Free PPV credits from DirecTV?

Could plunging economy affect D* 's talks with HD providers?
