I am busy writing another article on home theater configurations and would like to get some example pictures to use. I need a wide variety of setups including dedicated theaters, game rooms, bars, multi-purpose rooms, bedrooms, family rooms, etc. Please PM me if you don't want me

Besides, it might be fun to see what everyone else is doing.

To get it started, here is a picture I have posted before on my basement theater. I had a number of goals in mind when I did this, including not having to pull permits and the ability to open up the room for parties. I still wanted something that provided a good picture and reasonable sound. I ended up sectioning off half of my basement space with light and sound deadening curtains. More pictures will follow in the article.

So. Nobody has a setup they want to brag about?

I'd like to see everything from dedicated theaters to Don's projector in his headboard setup. Front projectors, rear projectors, flat screens, CRTs, whatever.

Wow with setups like those who needs to go out to a theater! When the next Jurassic Park movie hits blu ray I expect an invitation!:D

Am remodelling mine ATM (another one of my 10 on-going projects ). Hopefully it will be complete by the Christmas holidays. Long story short, we moved into this house in Aug 2011. The basement itself has a weird layout so I already knocked out 1 bedroom (had to fixed ceiling, floor, walls and new paint etc).
Now am cuting out half a wall and building an in-wall entertainment unit (opposite side of the wall is my work shop and I dont need all that space).

Afterwards, am installing in-ceiling speakers. Unless I upgrade, am keeping the Sanyo PJ with a fixed 120inch screen. Also got my hands on a Crestron touchscreen terminal which should be a hoot if I can configure it to my linking (sat, sat1, xbox, ps3, DVD, ota, Roku etc)

Cheers, K

Yep, you arer welcome to my place, just need to handle the airfare :) I don't do the theater anymore, and find I am patient enough to trade a coule of months against the hassles of the metroplex.

BTW, this is good stuff and helpful to the article I am working on. Sorry it has been delayed by my illness. Keep the pics and stories coming.

Here is mine. Klipsch Reference II speakers, Directv with EHD, Panasonic Blu-ray player, APC surge protection and Cyberpower UPS, 65" GT30, Sanus stand and Hsu sub. I'll post images of the new sub when I get it in. I need to so some wire management, just been lazy.

TV is several years old but been running strong. I have TV envy with all these pictures on here. That will be my next upgrade. I have been upgrading speakers and wiring lately.

Looks great!

Here is an update with the new 15" sub. I also finally worked out the wires from the tv yesterday. All ready for Jaws on Blu tonight!!!

Nice room Angiodan.

I don't know if this was DIY or professional but it looks damned good :)

Thanks John. All DIY, my father and I. The only thing I paid for someone to install was the crown. Only had a limited amount that I could get for a great price and couldn't afford a mistake!

I did have the room plans made up by Dennis Erskine of Design Cinema Privee, and the advantage of building the room while the house was being built. RCIS sound isolation clips, double drywall throughout the room, etc. I can dig up some construction pics if anyone cares.

I've done a little upgrading since I last posted pics of my room.

Berkline sectional with power reclining on left and right, lighted cup-holders, fold-down tray in the center section, and two ButtKicker transducers powered by a 1000 watt amp. Back L&R are JBL L7 4-way rated at 450 watts. Back Surround L&R are Definitive Technology UIW BPZ/A in-wall rated at 300 watts. I'm currently not using the two EoSone speakers mounted in the top corners. They are hooked up and ready to go, but they didn't add anything.

Track lighting is by Lightolier. I'm running 5 cans in back and 4 cans on each side. 11 are using 60 watt PAR-16 halogen with two up front using 50 watt PAR-20 halogen. They are all wired to a Lutron 600 watt IR-controlled dimmer.

HDTV is a 65" Mitsubishi DLP 65833. Front L&R are Definitive Technology BP7000sc 1000 watts up top with each having an 1800 watt Class D-powered 14" active subwoofer and two passive radiators on the lower sides. Center is a Definitive Technology CLR3000 400 watts plus 150 watt powered 10" subwoofer. The Height L&R are Definitive Technology SM55's 225 watts mounted using FourPair mounts from eBay.

Receiver is a Denon AVR-5308ci with both the "A" and "3D" upgrade. It is 150 watts x 7 @ 8 Ohms all driven and powers the Surround Back, Surround Height, and EoSone speakers.
Amplifier is an Emotiva XPR-5 400 watts x 5 @ 8 Ohms all driven and powers the Front, Center, and Surround speakers.
Satellite Receiver is a Dish ViP 722 DVR. Nothing special about that.
The Disc player is a Denon DVD-2500BTci. This picture is a little old and that slot is now occupied by an Oppo BDP-103 which I got a few weeks ago. The Denon BD is up on Craigslist. LOL

I use a Logitech Harmony 1100 to control everything.

New shot. Ive moved the fronts outside of the sub now to make a hole for the second sub. This also allowed me to create the triangle. Fronts are 10' 3" from the MLP and toed in; they are 10' 5" apart from each other, so I cannot do much better. The sound improvement with toeing them in recently has been great so I kept with that scheme. They arent pointed at the MLP because my wife and I share it, the right is pointed at the inner arm rest of my chair and the left is aimed at the inner arm rest on the couch. We have a small round glass table in between us.

As you can see, Christmas decorations are gone and Mardi Gras is in full effect...

Here are all my current toys:

Tivo Roamio Basic
HR44/200
Oppo 103D
APC Surge Protection
Denon X4000
Outlaw Model 7125
