Please advise of this......
We just stated service with directv a few days ago. We have the new 5 lmb dish for the new hd channels.
When we had the service several years ago, we connected the main input line from the dish to a spliter and connected it to the cable wire in the house to hook up other tv sets in other rooms.
The installer just hooked up the main HD TV on this install. I was going to just reattached the cables and use the old converter boxes we kept to hook up other rooms.
The problem......When i hooked the main line to a regular old fashion spliter or a switch it does not receive a single to the other lines.
I guess I am asking how can i hook up the other cable wires to get a signal in other room using my old converters.
Is there something I need to use from the main line from the dish?
He has it set up as one line in from the dish....then two lines in the living room to the hd box to record two channels. thanks for your help richard
