PlayStation Network - How to turn 2-step verification on

This was asked in the Pub, but I'm copying it over into here so more will be able to see it.

Select the "Account" tab at the top
Select the "Security" tab on the left
At the bottom you'll see "For 2-Step Verification, please visit this page."

That'll send you to the page to setup 2-step verification.

Not sure why someone would ask that in the pub as opposed to the video game section..This just shows how hidden and unknown this section is in this forum..

Nice. I'm glad to finally have this for my PSN account since their security hasn't been the best in the past. I just got it activated.

There was an unrelated thread about the Yahoo breach, that led to Playstation network and it's security (my daughter's account had been compromised). When I mentioned 2-factor authorization, someone asked me how to set it up, and I gave him the instructions.

Since I hadn't seen the instructions here (and sony isn't exactly clear on how to set it up) I decided to copy my answer into this forum, where those that need the info tend to go.

I pay a lot more attention than most to what is going on with video games and I wasn't even aware that two factor authentication was an option. I remember reading an article saying that it was coming a while back but it wasn't live yet at the time and I hadn't heard anything about it since.

Also, due to the importance of this issue, and how hard it is to find out how to set it up, I created a standalone thread so it doesn't get lost in the main Playstation thread. If I was a mod, I would have stickied it for a while.

Exactly what Derwin said. It was me that asked him the follow-up question because I actually looked for this a couple weeks ago and couldn't find it in the menus. I agree that this should be a sticky.
