PlayStation 4 won't play Blu-rays, DVDs or Stream out of the box

Yeah I was pretty shocked when I saw there was no DLNA. Being able to do that out of the box would have been a good way to counter the "entertainment system" selling point of the XBone. And the lack of MP3 playback is just plain odd. And no Audio CD playback? Okay, yeah that's a feature that probably only 5% (if that) of PS4 owners would use, but it's still odd to think that a laser based system wouldn't be able to play audio CDs. I mean hell, my Sega CD could play audio CDs...

Come on man. Read just a little bit before making new threads. We already have an active conversation about this.

Well, according to an extensive FAQ on the PS Blog, the PS4 won't play audio CDs, MP3 files, and will not support DLNA media servers or external HDDs—period. This is such an incomprehensible step backwards I don't even know that I'll be making the next-gen jump until it's addressed. Prettier graphics and social media integration just isn't enough for me to justify a switch. Maybe it's time to start thinking about a gaming HTPC.
I'm going to wait till the PS4 comes out and pick up another PS3 for my bedroom, I rarely play games with my current one, but stream all the time from local network or from EHDD...
