Playlist in software version L621

I've done a search on the forum, and only saw one passing mention of this. If anyone knows if this feature is live and how to use it, can you post?

Similarly, if you know its not yet live, but coming, I'd like to know that too.

I am sooo hoping I can go in and put a bunch of programs into a group and have them just "play" one after the other in a playlist.

This should be in the new software updates thread under the Dish Network - Technical Discussion along with all the other reported features of the new update.

Those of use who do not have this update yet, cannot comment on unseen new features.

Ummmm, might want to check out that thread Jim. RandallA has quit doing it, and there is almost nothing on L621.

Have to disagree with that. The thread you refer to has always been for software announcements only. Quick and easy read. It should remain that way for the next person interested in doing it. Discussions were always held in other threads.

Best to have a separate thread to discuss the details of a release. Who wants to wade through a bunch of "I don't have it yet" or even meaningful posts about receivers they don't have? This could have been part of one of the existing uncombined L621 threads, but a brand new feature may deserve its own thread.

So, I don't have L621 yet . IIRC, this was added to the DVR screen. Has anyone checked for instructions on the Help screen?

Did they change that later. Only one of my receivers just got it today (6/16) and I don't fall in the listed zip code ranges.

As far as the original post, I can't seem to get the Playlist option to do anything except drop me out of menus. Groups works well on the internal drive. Timer history has returned. A transfer button (PocketDish?) which for me is grayed out.

I also don't get how the playlist is to work. It's not doing what it should from what I can tell. No help jumped out either on the screen but I could have missed it. It's almost like they didn't add the 'Help' for the new features but I will look again. It's really half assed imo.

I made a new group for me to add things to. I then tried to play things in it and in a short test I just don't see how playlist works, at least with just a brief attempt to figure things out

I have L621 and have already noticed a few annoying bugs. Of them the most problematic is the way recording deletions are handled. I deleted several recordings this morning, one at a time, from withing an existing group. After the deletion was completed, the screen returned back to the same recordings group but still showed the deleted recording in the list. I could not select it, and when I backed out to the main recording menu then returned to the same group, the number of recordings were correct. It seems to be some sort of refresh error.

Not sure about what you mean by a refresh error. The rest of the description is the same, perhaps bad, behavior I have always seen in group by title. Essentially you sometimes have to drop out of the group and come back in to see which shows are left.

I got the new software this morning.
Only thing I noticed is 2 new settings under Network Connections. Looks like something to do with Slingbox.
Hit 6-1-9

Nickname Setup-2
Web Activation-3
If I click on 3 I get a Web activation number, and a message that says "Please activate at http://dish.sling.com/activate within the next 15 minutes"

Don't try to delete all highlighted programs in a group with L621. You will empty your Hard Drive (622). Don't ask me how I know.

I'm stuck on L618, is there any way to force my 722 to update to L621 or do I just have to wait it out?

I can empathize with you, as I did the same thing several months ago...I hit 'select all' when I was in a group of shows, and 'poof'...all recordings were deleted!! And I'm on L618, BTW.
