Platinum channelsnot in "Everything" pack?

I've been a Dish customer for about 6 or 7 years and was considering going to the "Everything" pack, however, in looking at it I see the platinum channels (now known as movie pass) do not seem to be included, is this correct? My understanding of the "Everything" pack was that all premium movie channels were included and since "movie pass" is listed as a premium should this not be included?

The package never included "Everything". The Blockbuster package (or Platinum as it was called before this) was separate from Everything for at least a full year, if not longer.

Kind of misnamed then. I know when I started with Dish is also included the receiver fees, oh well, I guess as with everything else has become another "nickel and dime fee" deal.

Everything is AT250 + the 4 movie packages which at the time was close to "everything"
Its never had everything in it (like Supers or sports package)

Yes I agree with the misnaming. "everything with exclusions" is a better description.

Where are you looking where it says you generically get "All" the premium movie packages? All I see are more specific descriptions. You said in your post it was "your understanding" I'm not seeing how that translates into that's how it should be.

You have to remember AEP was around long before Platinum/BBMP was and at the time of AEP it was AT250 and all the movie channels available at that time

I will admit when I saw it said same as 250 package plus 30 premium movies channels, I did not count the individual number of movie channels, I just assumed it included all premium movie channels of which "movie pass" is listed on my programming as one of the premiums, so much for "assumptions" sorry I bothered everyone.

Of the assumptions I have seen I at least yours I can understand that you might think they were included. The way other channels have migrated down over the last couple of years, maybe it should be! lol

Yeah, everything is kind of misleading as a package name, possible even outright false advertising. Just call it the "Chock Full of Channels Pack" or the "Channel Superpack" or something that sounds impressive but doesn't actually seem to be making an inaccurate claim.

Honestly, if I didn't follow the forum and know this stuff, my first thought would be that an Everything Pack includes, well, everything. The only thing I'd wonder about would be "Does that mean free PPV movies, too?". The idea that any full-time channel (Apart from like local OTA affiliates from out of market or out of market RSNs) that Dish carries wouldn't be in it just wouldn't cross my mind. I can see why people who subscribe to the package might feel misled or start a thread on the forum acting confused-- calling something "everything" that doesn't include everything is a little strange.

Platinum and BBMP are "replacements" to ....dare I say the name?.... Voom? It is a separate HD only package. Voom, which was a $10 additional HD package not included in "everything" went away when Dish added a ton of HD channels most of which were "HD" versions of existing channels. To get these HD channels you had to pay the $10 additional HD fee which included the HD Only channels. A while later when Dish added more bandwidth, more HD-only channels were added to create Platinum for $10 a month but then dropped the fee for HD service in general (now Free HD for Life). So those that kept paying the same price they were paying before kept getting Platinum as part of everything. Those that took the $10 "discount" lost the Platinum channels/

So basically the HD channels have ALWAYS been $10 over the "everything" pack except for a short time when there was a $10 HD enabling fee and $10 fee for Voom.

Everything has "always" been the top basic package (AT100/150/200/250) plus the 4 major premium packages HBO/SHO/MAX/Starz+ DVR fees - Everything else was extra. The DVR fee was split off "everything" a couple of years ago.

There is no reason to apologize! I can understand how this can be confusing and it is great that you brought this to our attention. It is important that customer's let us know when things like this happen so we can improve the way we do things. AEP never included receiver fees but it did use to include the DVR service fee. There have always been channels that were listed as premiums that were not included in the AEP. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback to us!

I hate to disagree with you, but this is not quite true unless you are talking about adult channels.

When AEP was introduced in late 2000 or early 2001, I can't remember, it included all English language channels except "Porn", the out of market sports channels, and sports packages. Basically it was AT150+the 4 existing movie packages(HBO/MAX/SHO/Starz)+DVR fee for $69.95/mo. It did NOT include locals since they were not available everywhere.

Here is something to keep history in context. The current price for AEP is $104.95/mo but no longer includes DVR fee.

America's Everything Pack was created by combining AT150 with HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and Starz. At the time of its creation, AT150 and all the movie channels sold separately for $74.98 and shortly after $75.98	Late 2000 or early 2001	AEP	$69.99

Yes, Playboy used to be a Premium Channel and could be bundled for the Multiple Premium Discounts but it was never a part of the America's Everything Package.

Wasn't VOOM a premium? Also in the past some sports were considered premium, Cricket for sure it is listed as a premium in the first Guide I got from Dish.
