Hi all, a local Florida satellite supply store was running a sale on the Winegard 76 cm dish so I decided to get one more Ku dish. I now have 3
The original idea was to use it on a poll mount in a spot in my back yard where there is LOS to Hispasat and west to about 79W or so. For now I plan to just ghetto move it but I might add a motor in the future.
After the dish came in and I looked it over it seemed to me due to the way the mounting bracket was designed it may not be able to run down low enough to hit Hispasat when mounted on a poll that is mounted vertical (for the possible motor) so I decided to swap positions with one of my Fortec Star 80 CM dishes.
The Winegard 76 is now on a roof high mount and is locked on to 83W and getting RTN but that's another story.
The Fortec Star had plenty of movement in the mounting bracket and was no problem getting Hispasat with it.
Tip for anyone that might be interested in trying to get Hispasat with the Winegard 76 CM dish and a poll mount - if you are not going to use a motor and only want to get Hispasat you might want to consider installing the poll at an angle so there will be more room for the LNB arm to clear the poll.
Anyhow, here are some pictures of the low rider.
