im stumped by this problem. a cust has pixeling on just the portugese channels. it is a superdish 121. the lnb has been changed as has the switch. the signal on all tp is in the 90's. all the locals come in fine with absolutely no problem. its only on the four portugese channels. anybody have any ideas what could be causing this?

sounds like a compression problem somewhere before it gets to your location.
(ie poor quality in)
any way to check the same channels at another location?
what size screen is the customer using?

yep, same problem

Hi, yeah I get SPT portuguese channel 821 on the Superdish.

In comparison to all of my other channels, this one looks like absolute
garbage. It's not really a digital signal issue so much as just terrible
quality.

It's really blurry.

the cust has a regular 27 inch maybe 30 inch not sure of the brand but the same tv you find in 80% of houses. its not that the picture just isnt clear it pixels bad like if the signal was real low. it is unwatchable

Heres your answer.

Channel 821 and a few others is supplied to Echostar in that poor pixelated format from its source that isn't considered poor if you where a local to the portuguese.

In other words even though its pixelated, its exactly how it was intended to be transmitted from the source to destination!

Dish Pass and PIP ?'s on 622

522 --> 622 swap: As easy as it looks?
