Pistons/Celtics game 2- Refs gave Detroit the game

Detroit won ONLY because of the referees swallowing the whistle and giving them ll those free throws!

The referees STOLE the game for Detroit.

They got lucky the refs blew all those fouls and gave them all those free throws!

Detroit is SOOOO LUCKY the referees not only failed to call fouls they committed, but gave them so many free throws!

Word to Piston fans:

be thankful the refs gave you all those free-throws and ignored all those fouls.

They clearly were aided tonight, IMO.

Jimbo, Rob, jerrya72, word of advice:

Be thankful the refs were on the Pistons side tonight.

All that whistle-swallowing plus so many free throws equals an undeserved win.

P.S. Flip Saunders, to me, is the NBA's version of Barry Switzer- a guy who has a ton of wins because he is fortunate to have such a strong team.

Switzer basically just stood there and watched the Cowboys win- just like Saunders in Detroit.

I am not much of an NBA fan, but I didn't manage to watch the 20-minute condensed version on the DVR last night. All-in-all, it's pretty much what I had expected...Detroit would steal one in Boston and the Celtics won't be able to win one on the road.

I may have to take a vacation from the Sports Forum should the Spurs play the Pistons in the finals...

Its not Pro Piston officiating its just BAD OFFICIATING!

Its bad bad bad, both ways, both teams. (Ask Tom Heinson for an impartial view) Seriously though the calls BOTH ways in every Celts game Ive watched is awful. The worst part is these are their best peeps!

If Steve Javi refs another Celtics game I will not even bother to watch.

Breathe on Billups or Hamilton it is a foul.

Rajon Rondo gets clotheslined and no foul.

Bull crap goal-tending call, no charge call, phantom foul on an in bounds play.


Saying all that, Celtics did not play good enough defense to win last night.

Hamilton should have been called for a charge on Pierce, but if I were a Celtics fan, I would be sending Rondo out of town after his series of stupid fouls and plays. He lost the game for you, not the refs!!

I was expecting this. Like Jimbo said - IN BOSTON? Sabre, why didn't you just post this in the Pistons / Celtics thread? Do we need a thread for every individual game?

The officiating is the worse I've seen in many years.
VERY inconsistent in all the playoff games and yes, they've been impacting all of the games.

Right now, I'm very discontent with the NBA officials.

And I can care less about Detroit and Boston.

You are going to tell me that they weren't calling touch fouls last night? Hamilton hits Allen with the ball, and they call the foul on Allen, Whatever.

Game 1 was ref'd without calling touch fouls, last night was a joke.

Like I said before, the Celtics have no one to blame but themselves for not playing defense last night.

You guys think your seeing bad officiating , you should be watching the HOCKEY playoffs.
The Wings Holstrom has a goal disallowed the other night , because the THOUGHT he was in the crease.
Replay confirmed he was NOT and the goal was still disallowed.

Then last night, game one of the finals, wings score the first goal and again they wavie it off for some ruling I have never heard of in my 38 years of watching hockey.

I apologize for swiping this thread, but it was talking about officiating.

I know it should be in the NHL thread.
