Picture Quality on 510

Hello Everyone,
I just moved from the 301?, the entry level receiver, to a 510 and noticed that I seem to get a lot of pixilation when the picture is a night time shot or if there are a lot of shadows.
The 301? did not have this problem.
Is this a known problem with the 510 or do I just maybe have a defective receiver?

this shouldnt be happening. Basicly the way the DVR works is that it captures the data stream strait from the tuner to the hard drive and shows you exactly whats on the hard drive. It should not look any different at all.

I do have a question.. have you changed your hookups? IE going from coax to Composite (RCA) or to Svideo.

No, I am using the same connection which is Svideo.

I *HAD* a 311 and a 510 at one point. thy both produced an almost identical picture. I would consider calling E* and asking about it. 1-800-333-DISH . option 1 - Account/Phone # - option 3
