Hello,

I'm trying to get EV setup through a family member's address and the outlet selling the equipment told me that I have to hookup the unit to my phone line for them to activate it when I choose my packages. Is this true? Do I have to hook it up in Canada and activate it first?

Also, does anyone know if their online bill payment accepts US credit cards? The bell.ca site shopping cart asks for a canadian billing address for the credit card, so I was worried the same was true using their online billing for monthly payments...

Thanks!

DON'T HOOK IT TO A PHONE LINE!!!

Whew, now that I said that...yes they will accept US credit cards. You need a Canadian address for service and the bill needs to go to one also. You can pay with a US CC :)

Thanks Iceberg! :)

So, when I call them to choose my packages they won't have a problem activating my account if it's not plugged into a phone line?

I wasn't planning on hooking it up to my US phone #, but if this was a requirement for activation I could hook it up to the canadian phone and get it activated first... Or am I completely missing the point and should just never hook it up to ANY phone. ;)

Thanks!

only reason to hook it to the phone line is for PPV. If you have more than one reciever, they'd LIKE you to plug it in to phone line, but not required :)
