I have a series 2 Directv Tivo unit and about a week ago it started freezing up, getting mind numbing slow etc..
Called Directv customer service, tried rebooting, tried to delete some shows and as last resort was told to wipe the hardisk and reset everything.
Selected that option, got the wait for one full hour, wiping all content message and now it's stuck on that message! turned it off, comes back on and the message is still there!
I can get a replacement from directv for $49 w/ 1 yr commitment or $79 w/o commitment. But they warned me I won't get a phillips unit?
1) what will I get, should I be concerned?
2) Is there anything I can do to fix/reset my unit?
