Check Altitude-HD (in the 300's) in the guide. If its listed then the NHL HD channels will carry it. I've had to do a check switch to update guide data minutes before a game to make sure its there. If its not listed on Altitude-HD then iDISH is choosing not to carry it, which would be lame!!!
No they don't. Guide sometimes lists the games on Altitude HD, but when you tune there, no game. You then have to go to the SD channel. And Altitude SD is about the worst thing I ever saw. Terrible, terrible picture quality. Sometimes you'll find the game in HD, sometimes not. Doesn't seem to matter if it's home or away - it's pretty much random, and Guide doesn't help at all because it's often wrong.
I am talking "Altitude HD" as in "Colorado Avalanche hockey games", and I'm viewing from within the Denver metro area.
I remember trying to watch a home game in HD. I know it was a home game because we have season tickets and the wife went to the game with a friend that night. It was not in HD. Most home games may be HD, I wouldn't know because I'm at most of those games in person, but I know not all of them are HD, evidenced by that time when I was sitting home alone when the wife took a friend. Nothing but that Dish logo screensaver on the Altitude HD channel. I found the game on Altitude SD.
Hmmm the game was on ALT HD tonight and I see they will be broadcasting another one Sunday night, but the Dish HD schedule doesn't list that one being shown either..I wonder what's going on???
