With the fact that Univision, Telefutura, and Telemundo already have some popular programming in HD already and the heavy promotion of the World Cup to be broadcast in HD, you would think there would be movement to get at least Univision up by June 11.

I honestly just wish they would spotbeam all locals. It would free up more CONUS space.

There really aren't many locals holding needed CONUS space. Don't say 77... EA has more bandwidth due to 8PSK and MPEG4 to kick around than WA. There's a few SD locals on WA that could go beam when E-14 is in place.

There's no beam on 129 or 61.5 to cover the entire DMA. E-14 has a beam ready for it. Traffic transfer to E-14 will start on 5/21, keep an eye out starting around June 1st. There's 5 additional HD markets planned and waiting for E-14, Shreveport is one of them. This will be on 119 by the way.

There are 5 markets that have been identified as coming soon in HD, and apparently are going to be served from E-14. Will there be more? Very likely. What and when, though is not known.

Take a look at what I posted in the Echostar 14 Update thread...clicking on the beams will show the maps.

Here's some food for thought.... they said 5 new HD markets with E-14. Now I'm seeing way more than 5 new transponders out there for HD locals. You only need to take away the one transponder on the beam that is being used over San Francisco right now. Sure makes you go hmmmm....when you see all those spotbeams running in 8PSK over the 48 states.
