Could not believe what a rip-off of "A Beautiful Mind". All around, very sad. Though it would never end. Geordi has "swelled".

16 July 2012: Faces (10:00 PM ET)

"Moretti and Pierce investigate a murder in which the suspect has a condition that makes him unable to recognize faces; Moretti is attracted to a new professor."

Don't forget to rate this over at IMDb.com: "Perception" Faces (TV episode 2012) - IMDb

I haven't seem the pilot (hopefully I'll get time over the weekend) so I hope it doesn't suck...

Well, I'm 45-minutes into the Pilot episode. Hmmm. Okay, here are my bullet points since it's a waste of my time and energy to give this show much more thought:

1. I can see the "Beautiful Mind" angle, but to me it feels like a really cheesy version of The Mentalist.
2. Actors/characters are terrible.
3. Professor Pierce is a nutcase: not endearing, not personable, not interesting and not enjoyable to watch - it just doesn't work.
4. Agent Moretti is not credible: looks too young, don't like the character, jumping onto someone from a 2nd floor balcony to apprehend them sums up this show very well.
5. Interaction between Pierce and Moretti is even more painful than watching them interract with others.

Regardless, the ratings for this show are very good given that it runs after The Closer. I'm not ready to drop-kick it just yet...but another episode like this will probably seal the deal.

I actually watched a second episode and still don't get what the writers are trying to do. Issues:

1. I kinda figured-out this show is a bad morph of Beautiful Mind, The Mentalist and Numb3rs.
2. They are also playing that cutsie, jazzy, hippity-pop doofussy background music like in The Mentalist.
3. One minute the professor seems very assertive-aggresive-confidence (Mentalist) and the next he is paranoid schizophrenic (Beautiful Mind).
4. There are also times where he is quite pompous (Mentalist) and others where he is a professor/detective (Numb3rs).
5. They also try a little of that Castle things from time-to-time.

If I were the FBI I would nothing to do with this nutcase.

I couldn't get through either episode I tried to watch. I deleted the timer. Too much like all the other shows on the air, like the Mentalist my wife watches and I don't.

The gals are watching Simon Birch...or whatever cutsie boy's name is, just like my mom and her friends always watch Tom Selleck.
